GLOBAL WARMING
The greenhouse effect and global warming
Millions of years ago the earth's climates were different from what they are today. In the so-called Ice Age, most parts of the earth were covered with ice. The cold climate lasted for millions of years.
Scientists today find evidences that the present climate likely to change again. One of the reasons for this predicated change is their observation that the earth will be getting warmer. This warming is the result of the burning of large quantities of fuels and releasing carbon dioxide and heat in the air,.
An increase in world temperature would melt the polar ice. The melted ice would cause the sea level to rise and sybmerge the low-lying coastal communities.
